The stone mortar and pestle is one of the most primitive and ancient kitchen tools and it is still used today. A mortar and pestle effectively crushes and pulverizes whole foods and is essentially a stone age food processor. In this video I visit an old food processing site that was used by natives that once flourished in this region. I then use one of the mortar holes to process acorns I recently collected.
