When I was considering running for Senate, I decided to talk to some people there to get a feel for what I was getting myself into. The first Senator I talked to was J. D. Vance. He said to me, You re going to hate the swamp, but because I know you re going to hate the swamp, we need you in the swamp. We need people who don t love Washington, D. C. to go to Washington, Im going to be a Senator like J. D. has been. I m going to be somebody who champions America First policy, and I will never cave to the swamp.
