from THE MAN WHO PREFERRED TO STAND
From THE MAN WHO PREFERRED TO STAND, the first reconstruction and presentation of the major work from the repertoire of Etienne Decroux. Undertaken by Steven Wasson Corinne Soum for their company the Theatre de l Ange Fou in 1991, this work took a year to create and then toured the US and Europe for three years. The repertoire was eventually taught by Wasson and Soum in their school, the International School of Corporeal Mime, London. The Man Who Preferred to Stand was made up of 12 pieces from Decroux s repertoire, pieces dating from 1931 to his last work in 1984. This video, presenting La Meditation and The Factory, is the first of a longer series to be released
