Moby Lie Down In Darkness
The video was directed by acclaimed UK filmmakers Institute For Eyes. Best known for their striking documentary Isolation, about former paratrooper Stuart Griffiths, as well as videos for the likes of British Sea Power and Wild Beasts, the directors were invited to visually realise Moby s new single, taken from his most recent studio album Destroyed (selfreleased on Moby s very own label Little Idiot). Lie Down In Darkness is a soulful track of sublime melancholy and symphonic grandeur and the video s narrative reflects this sense of epic scale, as it follows an astronaut looking back on his life of space travel, journeying through an architecturally heightened London. Shot in contemporary London, the locations for Lie Down in Darkness reference 1960 s and 1970 s periods, recalling modernist and Soviet austerity.
