Sailing On A Pool Of Tears is the second single from the new Rebecca Downes Album Stripped Back released on 9 April 2021. Rebecca and cowriter Steve Birkett saw an opportunity created by the pandemic and consequent lockdowns to use the time to revisit and reimagine some of their most popular tracks. The result is Stripped Back, a new studio album that includes a fascinating reworking of six tracks from More Sinner Than Saint and four from the second studio album Believe. The original version of this track was released on the album Believe and had a filmscape vibe, but this version is very Spanish in feel. In addition to the original, there is a live version and a remix by the producer Chris Kimsey (Rolling Stones, Peter Frampton and others). It is without doubt the most popular song Rebecca and Steve have released thus far. And lockdown presented the opportunity for a different approach to the recording process.
