Meaning, Howl of the Wind Lucy Cordes Engelman, 2019
A voice labors to pronounce words we no longer know. These are words which hold meaning only when we can experience the ecology surrounding us, only when we can recall certain natural phenomena, only when we can take the time to notice And then there is a new word, a word that has been created out of necessity to describe these pangs, these longings, these ongoing losses. Using reworked archival footage from the Enthusiasts Archive (via Marysia Lewandowska and Neil Cummings), the artist explores words that have been lost from daily use. By Lucy Cordes Engelman w, archival material from the Enthusiasts Archive via Marysia Lewandowska and Neil Cummings.
