Arundo donax is an invasive, nonnative plant that the San Diego County Department of Public Works is removing in cooperation with the California Conservation Corps. Left untreated, the plant would choke out native plants and clog waterways. Native to eastern Asia, this giant reed grows in moist habitats such as stream beds.
