Bodycam Footage of Man Shot by Fresno Officer After Domestic Violence Call at 7 Eleven

(Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only) Fresno, California On Friday, December 23, 2022, officers from the Fresno Police Department responded to a disturbance between a man and a woman at the 7Eleven in the 2300 block of South Chestnut Avenue. A caller stated a woman was hiding inside the store from her boyfriend, now identified as 37yearold Michael Alvarez after claiming she had been assaulted. When police arrived on scene, Alvarez was seen parked right in front of the store. Two officers approached the car and gave Alvarez repeated commands to turn off his vehicle and exit the car. A third officer positioned his patrol car behind the suspects vehicle. Officials say he failed to follow the officers orders and abruptly put his car in reverse, backed up, and struck one of the officers as she stood next to the driverside door. The second officer was also nearly struck by Alvarezs vehicle and collided with the third officers patrol car
