Wright R 3350 Radial Engine Run, 18 cylinders, Test, 2
This is the second test run of the famous and rare Wright R3350 Turbo Compound Radial airplane engine. This engine was originally used on a Howard Hughes owned Lockheed Constellation. After fixing the propeller pitch issue and sorting out the electrical problems, we set about running the engine to just below 250 degrees Fahrenheit, Cylinder Head Temperature to allow the engine to warmup for an offidle engine test. Engine was running rich so we adjusted mixture settings after this run.
