Stir It Up is the second single from Patti LaBelle taken from the soundtrack album to the 1984 film Beverly Hills Copthe latter won a Grammy Award for Best Album of Original Score Written for a Motion Picture or Television Special (1986). The song was also used as the theme song to the shortlived sitcom Stir Crazy, based on the 1980 hit movie. In 1985, the single peaked at number 41 on the U. S. Pop Singles chart and number five on the U. S. Black Singles chart.
