ORBITAL The Girl With The Sun In Her Head from the IN SIDES album Written by Paul and Phil Hartnoll Drums by Clune Some facts about this track It started life as an idea for a scene in the film Hackers but it didnt make the cut. While Orbital were working on the track one of their best friends from Sevenoaks, Sally Harding, passed away. It then became a tribute to her. The wump and kick sounds come from the ARP 2600 Drums were created by Clune, friend of the brothers and also played with Dave Grey They were approached by Greenpeace to record the track powered by their mobile solar powered generator Cyrus. The whole track was recorded using only the power of the sun. The track title is a play on the name of a John Barry song The Girl with the Sun in her Hair. Orbital used to use this track as a intro to their live set. The Korg Wavestation was heavily used for all the voices and smooth sounds. The lead is from the Roland SH10
