The variations were originally scored for violin, mandolin, and guitar the three instruments which Paganini played. The piece was commissioned by the Paganini Guitar Festival, Parma, Italy, and the first performance took place next to Paganinis tomb on 27th May 2023, with Guilio Plotino violin, Carlo Aonzo Mandolin, and Giampaolo Bandini guitar.
