Old Blade Refurbishing No Power Tools Restoration
In todays video I am gonna show you how I old blade refurbishing. For this you dont need any power tools or expensive material. Basically, just sandpaper and some kind of polishing paste to get mirror finish. Keep in mind the key is in sanding and that will take some time. In my case I used approximately 5 hours for sanding. I started with 400 grit and realized I needed to go back to 120 grit because some of the markings were too deep for 400 grit. So, I did exactly that. After 120 grit I used 240, then 400 again and after that 800 grit. I finished with 1200 grit sandpaper. I did all sanding dry, it was more convenient for me in this case but you can do wet sanding as well. Just be sure your sandpaper is designed for wet sanding. After sanding I pass a few times over the leather strap to finish the blade edge and test it out. Let me tell you, that was super sharp. I am very pleased with that.
