Alfies Chinese Dinner (1945)
Titles read: ALFIE S CHINESE DINNER. Soho, London. Various shots of a small boy called Alfie looking at the outside of a Chinese restaurant (called Ley On s ) in Wardour Street. He goes inside it is completely empty and sits at a table. He looks at a grubby menu, then gives his order to a waiter. Several plates of Chinese food arrive, including spring rolls, and the waiter piles lots onto Alfie s plate. Alfie attempts to eat with the chopsticks, then gives up and uses a spoon to eat some rice. Note: restaurant looks a bit seedy (dirty tablecloth). Note: this issue is narrated by Kenneth Horne.
