This tutorial video explores the art of hollow cast plastic. Rotational molding, or rotocasting, is a quick and inexpensive way to reproduce an object in lightweight plastic. This video is the first in a series of tutorial videos I will be producing for this channel. I made rotocasting machine with metal I had around my shop and bearings, bushings, metal collars, sprockets, and gears from a local bearings supplier. The total cost of materials was around 300, and the project took about a weekend to produce. The mold is made from MDF and SmoothOn ReoFlex 40 urethane rubber. The urethane plastic used in the video is SmoothOn SmoothCast 65D. This video was produced by Jim Benedict for this YouTube Channel, BenedictClass.
