The song is part of a suite of 8 songs that Adrian received in 2009 when his mother passed away. He tells the story of how the song came about: Beautiful Bird is such a special song for me, as I received it in the final moments when my mother June passed away. At the moment of her final breath, I was sitting with her, and I felt her spirit leave her body. I felt myself begin to journey away with her, then I remembered I had to come back to my body As I was reentering the room I heard this song fullyformed in my head. In the days that followed I went into a very deep and solitary meditation where I had many images and insights about this journey that my mother s spirit was making, and about questions of mortality and spirituality.
