Cardiacs 1985 Theres Too Many Irons In The Fire

Paddywack0 After filming the Surbiton Assembly Rooms Gig in 1985 and then making the Seaside Treats Video later that year we went on to shoot and edit a video for Too Many Irons and storyboard an idea for Big Ship which never got filmed other than as an animatic. These were shot on a mixture of video, Super 8 and 16mm, but never really got anywhere. There was always no budget and not enough time. As I moved away from college and into proper jobs it became impossible to do things for free even though I wanted to. Too Many Irons was edited in Ripley near Woking in Surrey where I was working at the time and I have copies of it in various states of completion. But I don t think it ever saw the light of day. The big one was Is this the life. Unfortunately, record companies and big budgets were involved and our little outfit was sidelined. Oh well, no hard feelings, bastards We just went off and did videos for the Cranes instead
