Host Sophia Kayafas visits artist Naomi Okubo, whose work explores patterns and fashion, and in which the female subject turns away from the viewer, melting into the intricate background. Naomi prepares to move back to Japan, leaving her beloved Greenpoint neighborhood. The new ALL ARTS short documentary film series Flowstate, North Brooklyn Artists explores what it means to be an artist in the northern Brooklyn neighborhoods of Williamsburg, Greenpoint and Bushwick during summer 2020. Series hosts Ralf JeanPierre and Sophia Kayafas visit 16 artists in their homes and studios, looking at their gritty, inner worlds, and engaging in sincere conversations with a range of emerging, midcareer and established artists from diverse backgrounds.
