A recording of the Largo of JeanMarie Leclair s Sonata VII in a minor, played on the pardessus de viole by Tina Chancey, with Webb Wiggins, harpsichord and Susie Napper, bass viola da gamba. The pardessus was a hybrid, a mixture of the violin and the viola da gamba with five strings and frets, tuned in a combination of fifths and fourths and played on the lap.
