Flan di latte Milk caramel flan. Traditional Sardinian recipe
Flan di latte A silky smooth, incredibly light milk dessert from Sardinia. Super easy to make You will only need these five ingredients: 500 ml Milk 4 Eggs 150 + 100 g Sugar Zest of one lemon Vanilla How to prepare: Heat the milk with 150g of sugar, lemon zest (from 1 lemon) and vanilla, but do not bring it to a boil. Cover up the pot and leave the milk to cool down and absorb the flavour from lemon zest and vanilla. Meanwhile, in a bowl mix 4 eggs well, you don t need to whisk them. Once the milk has cooled down pour it into the bowl with eggs and mix well. To prepare the caramel melt 100g of granulated sugar on low heat until it reaches a golden caramel colour. Whilst still warm pour it into a baking dish and spread around evenly. As soon as the caramel hardens, you can pour in the milk eggs mixture. Put the baking dish with flan into a larger baking dish and fill it with hot water up to about 3 cm. Cover the flan
