I do not own the music in this video, rights to this Techno was born in the bedrooms and warehouses of Detroit in the 80s; it was the sound of the future and the sound of freedom. It was given form by young Black and brown innovators, whose communities were hit hardest by Reaganomics and the War on Drugs. It s no wonder that, two decades later, Sama Abdulhadi would discover the freedom and expansiveness of techno as a teen and bring it back to fellow dreamers and creators in her conflictimpacted homeland of Ramallah, Palestine.
