Boy Racing Motorist Aka Boy Racing Driver (1955)
Elmswell, Suffolk. L, S of a miniature racing car being wheeled out of a garage. It is the baby of all midget cars and is called: Icanopit apparently. The car is wheeled towards a pile of spare parts. The man who wheeled it out of the garage is seen making repairs to the car. L, S of a young boy approaching the camera 11 year old Bobby Rayner followed by a couple of girl fans. C, U of Bobby talking to his mechanic as the girls listen in. Bobby puts on his crash helmet and climbs into the car for a spin on the private track around his house. The car was built by Bobby s racing motorist father Richard Rayner. Bobby drives off and the girls run after him. L, S of the car racing around the track, the girls encourage him from a pile of sand. Various shots of Bobby driving around. Bobby s mother runs towards her garden wall and looks over it anxiously as he passes. M, S and L, Ss of Bobby driving around a real racetrack (probably Snetterton).
