Extremely rare ghostly Dumbo octopus caught on camera
Researchers have managed to film an extremely rare ghost Dumbo octopus, some 5, 518ft (1, 682 meters) deep off the coast of Hawaii. The creature gets its name, unsurprisingly, from its pale translucent appearance, and its two big ears, which it uses to flap around in the water. Dumbo octopuses usually measure around 2030 cm, but this guy came in at a whopping 60cm, which does make him an elephant of sorts. Naturally the internet fell in love with the octopus, demanding plushies and commenting that he was shaped like a friend. And not the crappy kind of friend who borrows your hedge clippers and never returns them. This guy would never do that.
