Anybody with a quarterfunctioning brain can see the direct correlation between the increase in poverty and the increase in petty crime shoplifting being one of the more common. The latest harebrained scheme from this worthless government is to jail more shoplifters. Yes, you really couldn t make it up. In the midst of a cost of living crisis, which they seem both incapable and unwilling to get under control, their big idea is to start jailing the people most affected by the crisis the poor. During this debate, Jacob ReesMogg and former Tory MP Jerry Hayes, display their abject ignorance as to why shoplifting is on the rise, and it s fairly obvious as to why because to accept reality would be to all but confess they are responsible for the mess in which this nation finds itself.
