Fascinated by the lush, dreamy, and pensive sound of Los Angelesbased alternative outfit Moaning, we ve invited their chief of synths, and bassist Pascal Stevenson to our studio to share with our audience some of the techniques they use to achieve the band s signature tone. Simply combining the outstanding Sequential Prophet 6 synthesizer, and a modest assemblage of effects pedals, Pascal takes us on a journey through variations on classic sounds of shoegaze, dream pop, and post punk. It is quite amazing what can be achieved with just a few simple ingredients, and even if you don t have the exact gear used in the video, you are likely to have some hardware, software alternatives.
