Uyghur rhythms (usul) by Gulnisa on the dap

Recorded in Urumqi, 2011(not 2006) by JEAN DURING, this video shows the Uyghur basic rhythmic cycles (usul). Gulnisa Ahmad is probably the only woman playing the dap professionally. She plays some Muqam usul : Tazi, Saliqe, Kichik Saliqa, then a long solo narating a short trip on a locomotiv (on the uzbek dayra); plus other rhythmic patterns.
