FIRE THE LORDS
Everytime someone mentions The Lords, these two lines automatically spring to me mind: Muzzer and fuzzer and son and Poor boy, ze life is so hard to gououou excerpts from the (hilarious) English lyrics presented with undeniable German accent in their legendary 1965 hit Poor Boy. In 1968 even The Lords made a slight excursion into psychpop. I was at the tender age of 8, when And At Night was one of the first 45s I d bought from my scanty pocket money. But what in the world was this weird thing on the single s Bside I hadn t seen that one coming, for sure But somehow this strange song Fire (complete with interwoven chunks of Latin intellectuals, those lads, eh ) had fascinated me anyway. So enjoy it for what it is p. s. At that time the band s singer Lord Ulli had worked a bit on his English pronounciation but his forced American accent sounded just like what it was: Artificially puton. ; ) Never mind RIP, Lord Ulli.
