US wants Venezuela to behave in a friendlier way or sanctions may get tougher

The US wants heavilysanctioned Venezuela to behave more democratically and friendly towards it or the sanctions which the Latin American nation endures could get tougher. This comes as Caracas stopped Washingtonauthorised oil shipments to Europe, saying it instead wants refined fuels from European producers in exchange. Daniel Shaw, Latin American studies professor, told us that the US pressure on Venezuela has always been about oil not democratic values.
