1981 American La France Pumper , Classic of the Year 2016
Dr. Gary Singers father, Edward, spent nearly two decades working with the NYC Fire Department and designed the Chiefs Repeater, a device used on the ground when fighting fires in high rise buildings. He also worked on the radio towers atop the Twin Towers. Edward passed away in 2001, before the 9, 11 attacks, but his passion for firetrucks inspired Dr. Gary to purchase a 1981 American LaFrance Pumper and turn it into a rolling memorial for the 343 firefighters who lost their lives on Sept. 11.
