Beginner Knife Making: How to make your first knife
Hello everyone and welcome back to the forge, In this week s video I show how to make a basic knife using a file. To do this project you do not need a forge, just some simple tools and you will be well on your way to making your first knife. Everything in this video can easily be done with a cheap harbor freight 1x30 grinder or even an angle grinder with flap disks. Steel selection, I used a Nicholson file 2. Draw or print a template you want your knife to look like 3. Use the template to mark your design onto the steel, I do this with a cheap can of black spray paint. 4. Cut your steel and grind in into the shape of your knife. 5.
