David Bowies Plastic Soul, 1974 1976
In 1974, Glam Rock Icon David Bowie left behind the androgynous trappings of the Ziggy Stardust persona and made a hard left turn into AmericanSoul and Funk. With the help of girlfriend Ava Cherry, guitarist Carlos Alomar, a then unknown Luther Vandross, and John Lennon, Bowie created some of his greatest work from 1974 to 1976. Classic albums such as Young Americans and Station to Station were released to great acclaim, all while Bowie found himself in the grip of addiction.
