What An African Drum Solo Sounds Like: Gbenga Daniel

Gbenga Daniel is a Nigerian drummer and musician known for his unique blend of traditional African rhythms with contemporary jazz fusion music. He is widely recognized for his masterful use of the drum kit and other percussion instruments and has become a highly soughtafter collaborator for many musicians in Nigeria and beyond. Gbenga Daniel attended Society for the Performing Arts in Nigeria (SPAN) a NonGovernmental Organisation set up with the aim of creating a world standard for performing arts education and expression in Nigeria. He studied Jazz and contemporary music. During his time at the academy, he honed his skills as a drummer and began experimenting with different styles of music, including jazz, fusion, and Afrobeat.
