D. J. (Moonage Daydream Mix) is the second track to be released from Moonage Daydream, the musical accompaniment to the Brett Morgen directed film of the same title (both released 16th September). Initially released as a single in Summer 1979 as the follow up to Boys Keep Swinging from the album Lodger, is one of Bowies most adventurous singles featuring discordant violin and improvised guitar solos that were made up on the spot without the player having heard the track in advance. This exclusive and unique mix that features in Moonage Daydream and on its companion album focuses on the songs instrumental groove, offering an insight into the art funk foundation of the track.
