This is a brief introduction to understanding how to choose and, or design concave for your skateboard deck. Overview: Concave is commonly measured as the vertical drop from the edge of your deck s rails to the center of the top of your deck. Concave influences how we skate mainly in 3 ways: 1) comfort, feel ergonomics 2) leverage, flick contours in our board may help provide leverage for flicking or provide pockets for securing our feet 3) stiffness concave provides stiffness to our deck, which mea
