Wildwood Days Bobby Rydell 1962
Wildwood Days, originally recorded by Bobby Rydell in 1962, is about a cluster of small communities known as The Wildwoods located on the New Jersey shore where the Rock Roll scene thrived, especially during summer vacation when school was out, every day was a holiday, and every night was a Saturday night. A very talented singer, entertainer, and musician from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Bobby Rydell was the quintessential Rock Roll teen idol like Frankie Avalon and Fabian in the early 1960 s. Rydell notched 34 Top 40 hits, placing him in the Top 5 artists of his era. As a young entertainer of 9 years old, he did impersonations of wellknown entertainers of the day on a teen club amateur TV show. At 21, he costarred with AnnMargret and Dick Van Dyke in the movie Bye Bye Birdie in 1963. Rydell continued to perform internationally as of 2013, mostly as a solo act, in front of sold out audiences.
