Secondary Hemostasis Part 2: Cell Based Model of Coagulation
Coagulation is classically divided into the extrinsic and intrinsic pathways, which both run into a common pathway. The newer cellbased model attempts to describe how the sequence of events occurs under physiological conditions. The main difference is that the cellbased model of coagulation doesnt separate the two pathways, but describes several stages in which coagulation proceeds.
