How to Paint An Easy Northern Lights Landscape, loose ink watercolor tutorial Demo, Aurora Borealis
Today I m experimenting with my Dr Ph Martins watercolour inks and Jackson s Indian ink, painting with them wet in wet in the same way as I would use watercolour to try to create a painting of the Northern Lights AKA the Aurora Borealis (you can also follow this tutorial with ordinary watercolour paint for a more subtle effect). My board is at an angle of about 45 degrees tilt. I use various brushes, see video, but use whichever equipment and materials you are most comfortable with, but best to use old brushes as ink can damage them if you don t wash them out thoroughly straight away. Also, make sure all surfaces are protected as the inks are a bit messy and can stain. My paper is 100 cotton Saunders Waterford, cold pressed. Thanks for watching, and happy painting
