The Serpents Egg
Ingmar Bergman Movie 1977. David Carradine Liv Ulmann. The Story of a Jewish fella who runs away from the Circus to run away from the ProtoNazis to sleep with his dead brothers wife. While they are together some awful Tom foolery is a foot indeed Not considered Bergman at his best but, I would disagree and not be so harsh as most. The story certainly has less psychological depth than Hour of the Wolf or less Intellectual curiosity than The Seventh Seal. I would say on Par with Virgin Spring for good old fashioned story telling though.
