The Pattern 83 Battle Jacket was developed in South Africa, to be a part of the Pattern 83 system. This included the battle jacket, a chest rig, and the ruck sack. All of which were to be used together on a patrol. Today we ll discuss the ins and outs of the battle jacket, and whether or not it is still relevant when compared to more modern kit.
