Traditional Japanese Sports: Kendo (1984)
This 15minute Japanese film, narrated in English, offers an overview of Kendo, the art of Japanese swordsmanship, with attention to its history, the basic principles behind it, and some of the techniques. We see matches staged for the camera and watch classes of young students in action. The film even visits the town of Yagyu, named after the sword master who developed Kendo as an art form and sport and more than just a killing technique.
