East Anglian Harvests (1946)
Crops of East Anglia at harvest time. British Instructional Films presents; Wheat, map of U. K. zoom into East Anglia. WS of wheat field CU of corn heads. A tractor pulls a harvester and deposits bails of wheat behind it. Farm hands make larger piles and they are forked onto the back of a lorry and driven to a Bailing machine. CU as wheat enters the thrashing machinery. Corn is collected in sacks. CU of hand showing grains of corn. Full sacks of corn are loaded onto the back of a lorry. Potatoes, a tractor with a potato digger drives down a row of potatoes throwing them out the back. Women workers collect then in buckets and pour them into sacks. WS as sacks are emptied into a large pile and then covered with wheat stems. The potatoes are shovelled onto a conveyor belt and sorted by hand. the full sacks are then stacked in a pile. The sacks are marked Chelmsford 1946. Sugar Beet, a tractor pulls a hand steered plough through a beet field. CU as the beet are knocked together to remove the soil,
