Dogs establish secure emotional connections with us by staring into our eyes Dogs are pack animals and that makes them want to be close with us who they view as part of their pack. Some people say that cuddling your dog will cause separation anxiety or the dog may bite someone. Dogs crave attention. My female dog, Almond, is 8 years old who loves all attention, all pets in the world. She leans and touches me for physical and emotional support. She sees me as a leader; someone who can protect and comfort her. She is very happy when she is cuddled or stroked. I am a needy person and Almond always wants to cuddle.
