Could you travel from the U. S. A to Russia ON FOOT

Many people would be surprised to hear that despite being in different continents, the U. S. A and Russia are actually extremely close to one other. This realization raises a lot of questions, the most obvious one being the possibility of being able to travel from the U. S. A to Russia and vice versa by simply crossing this body of water.
