Home favourite Vendula Frintova recovered brilliantly from a tricky second swim lap to take Sundays Karlovy Vary World Cup gold for the second year running, pipping USAs Tamara Gorman to the tape. Frintova had hung on the Americans shoulder from the first steps of the hot 10km run, eventually passing her down the home straight, Germanys Caroline Pohl landing a first podium in third.
