South Korean police raid medical association office over doctors walkout
The police have raided the offices of South Korea s largest medical association, accusing it of instigating mass resignations of trainee doctors. This comes after thousands of junior doctors defied a government deadline to return to work by the end of yesterday. 565 doctors have returned to their duties, but more than 8, 000 others remain on strike. Seoul has said it will go ahead with increasing the number of students admitted to medical schools. A poll has shown that up to 75 of the South Korean public support the government s reforms.
