Bio By She Rox All Female Bands: The early 1990 s saw the movement of bubble gum hair metal phase out into what soon became Grunge music, female bands like L7 and 7 Year Bitch soon dominated the industry for their raw intense sound, Australia s own Nitocris, quickly became that country s answer to the ever growing grunge movement and in fact where one of the very first all female bands from Australia that many attributed to inspiring not just female bands, but male bands alike. Nitocris began in 1992, and soon gained national attention through out Australia for their punk rock sound, combining elements of metal and alternative rock which gave the band a unique sound unlike many others. Touring with such bands as The Cult, Midnight Oil, and Suicidal Tendencies only fueled the spark the band rode until their break up in 2001, that included four Ep s and two full length albums under their belts.
