The story of the past 20 years is a story of destruction, devastation, corruption, incompetence, but also a story of resilience, says Nadje AlAli, director of the Center for Middle East Studies at Brown University and author of several awardwinning books on the U. S. invasion and occupation of Iraq, including What Kind of Liberation Women and the Occupation of Iraq.
