BBC South Today New PPE in development at University of Southampton for frontline healthcare staff
Engineers and medical staff from the University of Southampton are testing a prototype of a personal respirator they have developed for frontline healthcare staff tackling the COVID19 pandemic. The University of Southampton team spoke to Tom Hepworth on BBC South. If the tests are successful, they hope it will solve the limitations of existing protective equipment doctors and nurses are wearing on the wards. The design specification will also be published online for all to benefit.
