Panned for its lastminute production and the controversial artist behind it, ye, in many people s eyes, was the final unraveling of a music genius. It was exactly the album I needed on June 1, 2018. Here, I do my best to pay tribute to an artist from whom I ve learned that when it comes to being creative, the only person that matters is me. The guitar I m playing is a Carlos guitar made in Korea, worth about 75. It was the first guitar I ever owned and was gifted to me in 2002, when I was 12, my a neighbor who heard I wanted to learn guitar. Over the years, I ve restrung it in different tunings and it s currently strung in High D (DGCFAD), where the top two strings are only a perfect 5th and an octave, respectively, above the low D.
