Tsamo (2015) dir. Anastasia Lapsui Markku Lehmuskallio

In the 1860s Alaska and Finland were both parts of the Russian tsarist state. Simon, a Finnish mining engineer, buys a 10yearold Alaskanborn Indian and decides to bring him to Finland. The girl named Tsamo is baptized and Simon begins to teach her the manners of Europe. The girl thinks she s married to Simon, but when Simon marries a woman of his age and fit, Tsamo no longer understands. Simon is forced to send the girl away, but the battle over Tsamo s identity takes an unexpected turn.
